I agree ludo on the deal being done on deadline day, not sure we can cope without replacing him
We'd need a top quality loan from a top side IMO but who ?

We were obviously angling at a straight swap when we put a price of 8m on Reid but they upped theirs to 12m... so some money is going to be involved.
I think we can survive without Reid for the rest of the season... my guess is we will hang on as long as possible so it will happen on deadline day.

Wenger valued Jenks at 8m a couple of months ago, but that was before we said we wanted 8m for Reid... basically I think it's all part of a negotiation around Reid / Jenkinson.... Arsenal want 4m plus Reid for Jenkinson which we might as well agree now as Reid will walk in the summer and we will have to pay a heck of a lot more for Jenkinson plus risk missing out if someone else comes in for him.

I don't think that's good at all. Reid is important to us and we shouldn't let him go.
We need to keep him as long as we can to finish in a Europa league place and I believe every position we finish higher than last years 13th, is worth £1m.
7th is worth an extra £6m and 6th an extra £7m without any European payments....

Yeah well here's another number: 5. Its all hypothetical.
Hes not the best defender I the world but two things he has are crucial to our strategy: Stamina to get up and down the flank and a good cross.

I dont think he is either. But United must do otherwise they would not of paid that amount for him.
If you can get Jenkinson for 12 mill and he spends the next 5 years with us we would have definitely got our money's worth out of him. It is worth the gamble in my opinion. If we can afford him that is.
